Main Idea & My Thoughts

Population of Muslims in Malaysia is more than 60% . And Malaysia is a country with a dual-track legal system of sharia law and common law. In recent years, human rights groups have advocated protecting LGBT activities and even set June as Rainbow Pride month. There are some twitter articles promoted LGBT life, but also included the insulted texts or pictures to Islam. This action is caused many devout Muslims to be extremely angry, hoping that enforcement agencies can punish them.

In addition to this Malaysia news, Tina read another report before. It stated that in some Islam countries, such as Iran and Saudi Arabia, homosexual acts can even be punished for the death penalty. Obviously, some religious powers still don’t accept the person who is arrogant presentation of LGBT lifestyle.

Respecting everyone has different religious beliefs, outlook on life, and standards. But we don’t need to do some behaviors to offend them. Hope one day everyone has the right to love the people they want to love and remember to cherish ourselves at the same time.
