文章大意＆心得
因為海水溫度一直上升，珊瑚礁白化日漸嚴重，這導致歸屬於澳洲的自然世界遺產－大堡礁珊瑚礁生態系統的保護等級將被列為『處於危險』。而澳洲對聯合教科文組織此一政策十分不滿，覺得許多世界遺產皆受氣候變化威脅，不該指單獨列出澳洲大堡礁。
因大量燃燒化石燃料導致近年來氣候變化劇烈，目前已有189個國家簽屬加入《巴黎協定》，致力於降低碳排放量以控制全球氣溫升幅在本世紀限制在2℃以内。但其中澳洲一直遲遲未允諾加入，也因此不少聯合國科學家及領導者覺得澳洲對於減碳這一塊做得不夠積極。
全球暖化，人人有責。地球只有一顆，我們都該用盡自身能力來守護它。像是夏季來臨，我們能就少吹點冷氣、風扇這樣既能省電又能愛護地球，畢竟台灣現在還是以火力發電為主。
Main Idea & My Thoughts
Because sea temperature has been rising, the bleaching situation of coral reefs has become more and more serious. This caused the protection level of Great Barrier Reef, a natural world heritage, to be classified as “in danger”. Australia government is very dissatisfied with UNESCO this policy. It feels that many World Heritage Sites are also threatened by climate change, but it shouldn’t only aim at Australia’s Great Barrier Reef separately.
Due to the massive burning of fossil fuels, the climate has changed drastically in recent years. Now, 189 countries have signed and joined “Paris Agreement”. They are dedicating and committing to reduce carbon emissions and control the global temperature rise within 2°C in this century. However, Australia has not promised to join it till now, and many UN scientists and leaders feel that Australia is not doing enough to reduce carbon emissions.
Global warming is everyone’s responsibility. There is only one earth, we should all use our abilities and try our best to protect it. As summer is coming, we can turn on less air-conditioning and fans so that it can save electricity to protect the earth. After all, mainly we use thermal power generation in Taiwan.
